Do Parents Have Rights to Shoot Back?

Like I shared yesterday in Forced Medications I find this story about Maryanne Godboldo very disturbing. That a parents rights to choose medical care for their child (or change treatments) have been brutally attacked is scary.  Does our society and our authorities think that parents are totally uneducated and incapable of taking care of our own children and must rely on those in authority to make those decisions for us?  We can't even be trusted to make healthy bag lunches! (granted not all children eat healthy bag lunches, but who thinks cafeteria food is necessarily healthier?)

The Maryanne Godboldo question: When do parents have the right to shoot back against state-sponsored kidnappers?

Forced Medications

My mouth almost dropped open and got stuck there attracting flies. I am in shock that this has really happened.

Detroit SWAT team assaults African American mom who refused to medicate her daughter with antipsychotic drugs

What is the matter with our western society? How did we ever allow such tyranny in our 'free' lands of America?

We are not Free.

Americans are not Free.

Canadians are not Free.

Not truly Free.

Not Free to chose for ourselves and our loved ones.

I am appalled that people are being forced to medicate their children. Pressured to put them on psychotherapy drugs.  Or to subject them to chemotherapy treatment under court order.  Or insist on inoculations under threat of legal action.

Just because the authorities are indoctrinated to believe that these poisons are actually good for people, and that parents are not smart enough to judge what is in their child's best interest.

I realized today, while reading these articles, that if I ever go to a doctor or take my children (not a common occurrence, thankfully) to see one, that if I have no serious intention of filling a prescription I should courteously decline having the doctor even write a prescription out.  In the past I've taken their prescription and just not had it fulfilled.  But maybe its even best to not take it in the first place.

Obviously, its a good idea not to be going to the doctor unless absolutely necessary.  In my opinion, there is a reason we say they are  practising medicine!  And I believe that we ought to be the specialist of our own body, and be educating ourselves  and our children on how to best take care of our bodies.

I personally believe that allopathic doctors are necessary in acute cases ie., emergencies.  But for anything chronic, they don't have cures --only bottles of 'band-aids'.  They aren't solving problems, but generally creating others via side-effects of their treatments.

This incident with Maryanne Godboldo  is ludicrous and appalling.  Somehow, this tyranny and threat must stop.

Think For Ourselves

Everette had our weekly 'coffee date' this morning. Its often the time we can connect and discuss the agenda for our Sunday afternoon Family Meeting with the children.

Sometimes we discuss his growing business. Or we discuss books we've been reading. Or how I'm dealing (or not) with school or family issues on a daily basis. Or some habits we need to address, or the growth we see in individual children.

This morning we actually talked quite a lot about our society of sheeple (people being gullible as sheep), and how we need to take responsibility for ourselves, and help our children think for themselves. I reminisced about John Taylor Gatto's book "Dumbing Us Down" we used for discussion at a homeschool group up island.  How we are conditioned in many ways to disengage from our world and do as we are told.

Then I came home to read this about the USA.... (Canada has very much the same system/mindsets as our cousins to the south)
Last-minute budget deal narrowly avoids the Big Government shutdown America desperately needs to balance its budget

Can the ball be stopped?  Maybe. I don't think it will be.

But I will continue to think for myself (freedom of choice), and teach my children to do so for themselves.  We will not do as we are told "just because", or because "It's always been done that way".  We will discover for ourselves what is right, what is good for us and those around us (the world), and not just what seems like a quick fix for the moment.

We will care about the future generations: have a mindset of Seventh Generation as the natives did.

Charter of Health Freedom

As a Canadian, do you have any idea that your Freedom to choose concerning your own individual Health is greatly jeopardized?  Do you know that producers of supplements and alternative health products are being denied product numbers so that they can't sell to you and I any more?

Earlier this week I went to the local healthfood store to ask about Colostrum.  (You can check out this if you are curious).  Anyways, its not on the shelves and I wanted to know why, while in pill form it is still on the shelves at a store up island (I know, because I asked Rauchelle to check for me).  I discovered that once Naked Naturals supply is gone, they won't be able to carry it either.

Why?

Because in this lay-persons words, our government thinks that I am not smart enough to read literature, research for myself, and decide for myself what products I think would be healthful for me to ingest or even use topically.  Like, I'm not wise enough to decide whether taking cinnamon in capsules would or would not help me with blood sugars.  Or that MSM lotion would be beneficial to lather on my scar tissue. Or if I might find that butcher's broom helps with my varicose veins.

Instead, they are limiting all of this Freedom to Choose so that I have the freedom to choose their pharmaceuticals or nothing.  Or grow my own, I suppose.  But then they would likely come and confiscate even that because it would appear that I am undermining Canada's Healthcare by not purchasing their chemicals to ingest.

In scenario, if I were to discover that I had some type of cancer, I would be able to chose allopathy protocol of surgery/radiation/chemotherapy; Invasive and Chemical.  Or I could choose to do nothing.
Or I could pay tens-of-thousands of dollars to go internationally and be treated by some alternative health practitioner (with a greater success-rate than North American rates concerning cancer, I might add).  But I can't go to a local business and purchase natural products (herbs & supplements, etc) that have a long history of being successfully used to help ones body heal itself.  Because it hasn't been tested in their labs and because it can't be patented,  it won't be available to us.

Why?

Because they will lose too much money.

Let's face it, people.  The whole talk about Health Care isn't about Health.  It's about Sick Care and the money they make off of the citizens being sick and staying chronically sick.  If we stay healthy, or get better ...........where is the money in that?

PLEASE!!!!  go to Charter of Health Freedom and find out how you can add your name to the petition, or sign at a healthfood store that has a petition already underway.  We need 3 million signatures by March.  There's a long ways to go, but it can be done.

About Shame & Vulnerability

A heart to heart about our biggest fears and the door to joy and authenticity.  Living a life where "I am Enough" and "I Accept Myself" even though I know I am not perfect.  And needing to ingrain that in my children.

With all of our imperfections, we are still worthy.

Freedom

If you've tried taking a Sabbatical, but you give in to the temptation to get back on your techno to do something, Freedom is here to help you!

Maybe one of your resolutions for this year is to do more writing, or painting, or reading tangible books.  But you find it difficult to find that quiet time to do it.  Freedom might be the tool you are looking for.

Don't Touch My Junk (the TSA Hustle)

Here's a light-hearted rap full of truths about the loss of freedom the USA public has accepted from the government under the guise of Protection.  It's got to stop.

Highway of Heroes Tribute

I picked up a book at the library earlier this week called "Highway of Heroes" by Kathy Stinson, because it looked like a fresh-off-the-press picture book I could use with the children Lest We Forget. And so I read it to them yesterday, and I learned something. Somethings. And one of them is how emotional I can get about those who have died so that I can live in a relatively free country.

The Highway of Heroes was not a staged event. It grew, from the respect that Canadians have for those who have given their lives to protect our country. When a soldier returned to Canada in a coffin and was being transported from CFB Trenton to the coroners in Toronto, people started to gather on overpasses to pay respect to the fallen soldier, and his family. And every time another soldier returns for a final convoy lead by the hearse they are travelling in, the people who stop to salute or fly their Canadian flags from overpasses increases so there are now crowds on each of the 50 bridges they pass under.

I don't care what country you are from, or what your political stance on The War is. But I do think there ought to be respect for their courage and commitment, and to show respect and compassion on their families at this time of loss.

This moved me to tears.

Lest We Forget.

Making Room

Minimalists don't spend their time and energy collecting, cleaning, moving, & maintaining unnecessary stuff.  They de-clutter so that they have more time and space and energy to devote their time to doing the things they enjoy more.

Whether that's  traveling,         cooking,
         reading,               writing,
    visiting friends,
playing games,      dancing,
          making music,
scuba diving.
                     Whatever.

The average person from developed countries is busy working to pay for new stuff, most of which is unnecessary stuff.  Or they are working to pay for the stuff they've already acquired on credit.  Or working to maintain their stuff, or store their stuff.

While we've been looking for rentals, we've seen our fair share of opened garage doors, and the vast majority of those garages are full of so much stuff that the vehicles are left parked outside of them.

You know exactly what I'm talking about.

Spring Cleaning

"It's time to clean out the sludge in my body, my life and my house, not to mention the excess that I have accumulated everywhere around me. I don't want to live in fear of sickness, or anything else!! Fear is a negative motivator and I want to live in the positive, vibrate at a higher level. To do so, I have to free myself of those excesses. It's time to live simply within my means, so that I am not a slave or serf to any man, bank, government, health care system or even a slave to my poorly trained taste buds."  ~ Chris, a member of Raw Food Rehab

Spring Cleaning isn't just about washing down walls & cobwebs, and cleaning windows.  It's the perfect time to seriously consider decluttering inside and outside, your body and your environment.

After a long Canadian winter (and a colder-than-norm winter south of us) of being mostly shut inside, gravitating towards heavier and warmer foods, you might be feeling a wee bit sluggish in body and soul.  It's a great time to consider doing an herbal cleanse, some type of detox like a juice feast, or a particular cleanse from Penni Shelton's "Raw Food Cleanse".

If you are interested in the raw foods or living foods lifestyle, you can check out the community at Raw Food Rehab, a great place for encouragement, recipes, information about exercise/enemas & colonics/weightloss, etc.

Another aspect of Spring Cleaning you might consider, is moving the synthetic fabrics out of your house while decluttering, and slowly replacing them with linen/flax and wool, or at the very least organic & unbleached organics.  The linen and wool are healing fabrics, adding health to your body and environment through their exceptionally high vibrations.  You can check out my other posts here and here.

Get a Spring in your step, a sparkle in your eyes, and a clear path through your house by decluttering.  Simplify life.  You'll feel clean inside and out.

The Way This Big Family 'Home Schools'

Many people ask us how we 'home school', so I thought I might just throw together something to say about it.

First off, I'm kind of put-off by that label.....home school. First off, it implies that we do what they do at school, but instead of going some where's for the day, we do the same sort of thing here at home. (We don't.)

Secondly, it's with an assumption that 'schooling' of any kind is a normal occurrence, and that to not school is abnormal.

Thirdly, in the 'home school movement', our family would be considered more of the 'unschooling' group. Very un-bookish (re: textbooks). So, we aren't a typical 'home school' family.  (Not sure we are 'typical' in any sense of the word!)

Fourthly, the assumption is that children go to school, or do school, as a means of gaining an education.  As if nothing can be learned outside of the acceptable 'going' and 'doing'.  As if learning is something to acquire at a designated place, in an ascribed manner. Like filling a bucket up with something that is measurable (the whole reason for testing).  And one thing is considered more worthy to be acquired, and that worthiness is decided upon by.......Whom??

My philosophy, shall we say, is very simple.

We learn by being.

 By being inquisitive; curious.
Being present in the moment.
By questioning.
By knowing there is never a stupid question.
We learn by experiences that delight our senses.
Exploration, whether that is via books, or ones imagination,
or physically exploring a subject or place.
We ingest information when we have an appetite for it,
not when it is forced.

My motto basically is "We Learn By Living".

This really is The Simple Life.  The life lived around relationship, more than accomplishment.  Motivated by relationship with one another, and with God, rather than a list of what one must know or do to be considered successful.

I know that I still have much to learn.  And what do I consider worth learning about?

LOVE

Read 1 Corinthians 13.  Known as The Love Chapter.  I can do all the wonders of this world, both physically and spiritually, but if I have not love...........I am nothing.  Really,
Love is All We Need!

(My philosophy is pretty much the same when it comes to my relationship with my Loving Heavenly Father. It is not about the doing, the going, the measuring. It's the being. I am His and He is mine. It's that simple. I just am.)

Question for You:  Do you have a motto you live by?

The Myth of the Perfect Parent

The Myth of the Perfect Parent | Christianity Today | A Magazine of Evangelical Conviction

I was informed of this article via a parenting forum I lurk at sometimes.  And I can so identify with much of the confusion, worry & fret, and the measuring of success we do as parents.  We may judge others, but I know I can be awfully harsh on myself.

Listening to freebelievers and thegodjourney plus reading some of the books I've read recently (The Misunderstood God, & He Loves Me!) are helping me keep my mind on the pure Love of my Father who Loves me (and my children) with abandon.  He's absolutely crazy for us, singing and dancing over us with joy, and He wants our own joy to be full......of Him.  I walk and rest in that love and the grace He bestows.

I am quite aware that we haven't been perfect parents, but I think I'm learning these days that I don't need to freak-out about some of the things that I used to, or feared that I would freak-out about if they were ever to happen in our family.  God's Love and Grace are so great to carry us through anything, and at the same time we can be anxious about no-thing!!!  That isn't a brag about us.....it's a brag on how Big and Awesome our Father is!!!

I currently have a situation in which there is constant practice for me to leave it with Abba....to learn to be anxious about no-thing.  I have stated my concerns as I felt it was a mom's responsibility, and now the decisions here on out are not mine to make.  I need to learn to stand back more.  To watch and pray, and to speak less and love more without so many words.  A new stage.  A new place to grow.

"We are not sovereign over our children—only God is. Children are not tomatoes to stake out or mules to train, nor are they numbers to plug into an equation. They are full human beings wondrously and fearfully made. Parenting, like all tasks under the sun, is intended as an endeavor of love, risk, perseverance, and, above all, faith. It is faith rather than formula, grace rather than guarantees, steadfastness rather than success that bridges the gap between our own parenting efforts, and what, by God's grace, our children grow up to become."  (from the article 'The Myth of the Perfect Parent')

Question for You:  Is there something in particular that you have learned recently about parenting that you could share?

Let Him Eat Cake

Everette saw this article online the other day, and it just baffles me that these things are happening all over the place. I heard of a homebirth recently in one of the states where, after baby was born, there was some concern for the mother so she was transported to hospital. All of a sudden, a situation where she was just wanted to make sure all was well, it became a case of 'child endangerment' because she hadn't birthed the baby in the hospital. They had gone for the mother, to get something checked out and be safe. You ask for a little medical help and next you know your children are taken away from you, because of course we all know that the establishment is far better at parenting than the rest of us.(gag)

As soon as thinking parents step back from believing the establishment is 'god', and start thinking for themselves and making choices they deem are helpful and healthy for their families, the establishment becomes insulted that they aren't needed, and they push their weight around, traumatizing children and their entire family. Big Bullies.

Here's the article.

by ALASTAIR TAYLOR in The Sun (UK news)

Published: 03 Dec 2009

SOCIAL workers took a two-year-old into care after his mother refused to give him junk food.

Zak Hessey was 8kg (17lb 6oz) when mum Lisa took him to hospital, telling doctors he was a "fussy eater" and not gaining weight.

Medics said he should weigh 9kg (19lb 8oz) and advised the mum of five to bulk him up on crisps, chocolate and cakes.

When she said no, social workers were called in and her tot put into foster care to assess if his eating improved.

Neglect

Healthy eater Lisa, 28, and her HGV driver husband Paul, 48, battled through the courts for four months before they got their son back.

Social workers then admitted in court that the couple, from Bolsover, Derbys, were devoted and loving parents.

Angry Lisa claims Zak's time in care left him a "chocoholic" and just 250g (8oz) heavier.

She said: "I thought I was doing the right thing going for help when Zak began refusing to eat and lost weight.

"Instead they basically accused me of neglect. They said I should give him chocolate, cakes and junk food just to get calories into him."

Lisa said she was warned her parental rights could be removed if she took legal action.

She added: "The Government and doctors always drum into parents the importance of healthy eating - yet they were telling us to feed Zak all the wrong things.

"Now it's hard to get him to eat anything else."

Back home, Zak has gained weight and is "doing well", she said. A Chesterfield Royal Hospital spokesman said: "We believe we acted in Zak's interest."

Question for You: Do you have an opinion as to where the medical establishment has rights, and where parents have rights?

Charges for Selling Raw Milk

Farmers selling raw milk are being targeted and charged as criminals. And Missouri state taxes are being spent to find these 'law-breakers' and make them pay for their 'crime'.

Some things are just so incredibly ridiculous I'm almost tempted to think its a fairytale. But the way people think today, I know that this is real, and just another idiotic ploy of The Big Guys terrorizing The Little Guys into submission so there isn't competition in the food market.

But its always the small farmer and all the consumers of food (yep, ALL of us) who suffer in the long run. And we are treated as if we're the idiots who don't know how to choose wisely the food we prefer to feed and nourish our families.

Mike Adams shares this recent story from his home state of Missouri, and gives names and contact info on where you can file complaints and make your voice heard, and even financially support farmers who are fighting against tyranny from The Big Guys.

You've gotta read at least the first couple paragraphs of his article for a good laugh.

Question for You: Do you think that selling any food by the local farmer should be criminalized?

Variety of online Videos

Everette somehow came across some incredible videos yesterday. We are talking INCREDIBLE TALENT and unusual. Some of them moved me to tears. This one is of aerieal bombings over Kiev during WW II. Lots of tears in the audience.

Thanks to Coralyn for letting me know about this video about Mandatory Flu Shots for Health Workers. Coralyn has tonnes of information on her site about Holistic Health,Natural Remedies,Global Consciousness. Be sure to check Coralyn out.

Also on the health topic, I really enjoy much of what Paul Nison has to say, and lots of information is passed on through all his videos. Today's interview was with some Jewish dance teachers who are now eating a raw diet and loving it. You can see their love for Yeshua and for life itself. Enjoy!

Vaccinations & Health

I just can't keep silent in regards to vaccinations at this point in history, when the USA is about to make them mandatory for the entire population, and Massachusetts is just about to make it law or if you refuse you can spend up to 30 days in jail plus $1,000 fine per day until you finally succumb (if ever) to their pressure. See I Am Appalled!

I cannot keep silent, because I am convinced that vaccinations are completely unhealthy. I will not silently let my friends and others ignorantly inject their children or themselves with these toxins without me at least passing on pertinent information.

Each of us is responsible for ourselves and those in our care.
I URGE you to educate your self concerning the issues around vaccinations/inoculations. It's a big subject, emotionally charged and financially influenced. But with the supposed scare of the Swine Flu/H1N1, and when this one passes I can virtually guarantee you that there will soon be some 'new epidemic' around the corner to worry about (whatever has happened to SARS, ebola, etc???). The vaccination debate is not about to soon end, but in your mind it could if you just educate yourself.

Please, please, don't just believe what you read or hear in the news. There are agendas, and paychecks to collect. They are not unbiased. Do your research, and seriously think about it.

Read the article by Mike Adams at Historical facts about the dangers (and failures) of vaccines

You'll be amazed to find out things like :
• In 1977, Dr Jonas Salk who developed the first polio vaccine, testified along with other scientists, that mass inoculation against polio was the cause of most polio cases throughout the USA since 1961. (Science 4/4/77 "Abstracts" )

• In the USA, the cost of a single DPT shot had risen from 11 cents in 1982 to $11.40 in 1987. The manufacturers of the vaccine were putting aside $8 per shot to cover legal costs and damages they were paying out to parents of brain damaged children and children who died after vaccination. (The Vine, Issue 7, January 1994, Nambour, Qld)

Question for You: Are you getting sick and tired of hearing about vaccinations and the swine flu?
