Boy Makes River

Did you see my post about Laars the other day?

Well, news has it that he has now done it in front of our parked van.

"Front of" means....closest to the street, since we back the van in.  Where all the neighbours could see (if they were passing by, or working in their yards and even cared one iota what was happening over at our Zoo).

Parked on a short but steep incline, he left a stream.  A river.  He is fascinated in making Rivers.

Pour a little water here on the kitchen tiles and watch the streams flow along the grout.

Pee a little there and watch where the stream will flow.

See how red mama's face can be.

And her heart smile a big smile because

He's my boy!!!

PS.  Cute for a 3 yr old, even if it wasn't my boy.  I'd think yours was adorable, too.  But not so cute if it was an 8 yo.  I'm sure we'll be a little more discreet by then.

Making a Stream

That is NOT a shadow in front of Laars.

Here's what happened, leading up to this funny.

I was making soup earlier today. Anders came in to tell me that Laars went pee. Outside.
I asked Danaka and Maret to take over the soup-making as I figured I would find a wet and cold boy who would love to have a bubble bath during the clean-up process just because he loves to.

I was surprised to find our 3yo standing at the front door with dry pants and a wet stream flowing down the aggregate. I told him that we shouldn't be peeing at the front door. We can go on the toilet. No big deal.

I went in the house to get some water to dilute the walkway of the yellow stuff. The boys of course wanted to play in the stream and proceeded to do that with rocks from the pathway once mama went in the house to continue with the soup.

A few hours later. Mama is back in the kitchen (because the kitchen seems to be the central command station) and Laars says "I gotta go pee". I asked if he needed any help, and he confidently said "No" and off he ran towards the bathroom. However, I heard the chime we have set to signify that an outside door has been opened. And I thought "He's not......??"

I notice that the toilet us unoccupied as I walk past the bathroom, but standing just in front of our Welcome Mat at the front door, pants still up but his you-know-what pulled up and out and creating a yellow fountain that will result in a stream he soooo admires.

Sweet little boy, steals my heart all the time.

When his father got home I asked him what would make a little boy do that. His response was "Because he can!"

I admit, I don't understand boys. They are just plain weird.

A Chair to Knead Bread

It was Layne's day to make challah.

But the whole wheat is a bit hard on the processors motor sometimes, so we have to use the arm muscles.

But when the counter is too high, or you are just a tad too short, you can't get the power you need to knead that dough.

Thus, call in the chair for support!

She needs a stool to blow out the candles on the mantlepiece, too!!

Bandana Mania

The Culprit.  Chelle got it all going.

Both Mitch and Anders had them around their necks in these pics
but they both are adorable wearing them on their heads.

Only people missing these is Laars, Mom and Dad.
No luck finding me wearing one, but Everette actually has something like a bandana he wore while we were in Belize.
It had a tube of some kind of gel that expands and keeps you cool when its soaked in water.
Laars would probably like one, I'd think, if somebody was so kind to give him one.

What Happens When the Guard Falls Off

DIY haircut when the guard falls off!
Oopps!!

Resulted in an 1/8 inch cut,
a tad cold for wintertime.
But I think my hubby
is so handsome with
a buzz cut.
So, I don't see it
as a mistake.

Calves & Cows

Laying in bed, cuddling with Anders in the morning I was telling him some names of the different parts of his body.  Things like knee-cap, shoulder-blades, calves and shins.

Later, he points at the back of his leg and tells his dad that that is his Calf.

He points to the front and says "this is a Cow!"

Don't Touch My Junk (the TSA Hustle)

Here's a light-hearted rap full of truths about the loss of freedom the USA public has accepted from the government under the guise of Protection.  It's got to stop.

(DPP) My Cute Red Shoes

Ever since I purchased these shoes, I've loved them.  And I've gotten plenty of compliments on them.

The funniest was when I was strapped on a gurney in the hall of an over-crowded hospital in Mesa, AZ after an ambulance ride.  The ambulance attendents noticed my cute shoes while we waited to get into an emergency room, and they were shocked at how little I paid for them since their wives both purchased expensive, expensive shoes and purses, one of which was like a $500 purse so she could carry her little dog.  And the other wife had had a pair of shoes that had been hundreds of dollars that got chewed by their (bigger) dog and so the wife went out and bought another pair of the expensive shoes.  They went on and on about their expensive wives, and I jokingly said that maybe they were married to the same woman.

Anyways, I've enjoyed my cute red shoes, and while sitting on the ferry today I decided to take a pic of them.  Because I like them.

Cowboy

He wears this outfit almost every day now, and sleeps in it whenever its clean.

The horse beds down somewhere else, but he wants to sleep and even dine with his hat on.

This is the cutest cowboy around, and steals my heart......and always will unless his horse starts dropping messes around here, then I'll send them both out to pasture.

Meet the Teacher

The childrens' teacher Miss Mac came to meet us for the first time, and as you can gather from the picture she was warmly welcomed by the children, and they enjoyed her reading stories and showing her some of the school-y type of stuff they've done recently.  It's been quite an adjustment going from unschooling to trying to do some school stuff to jump the hoops of being enrolled and having funding available to pay for some educational expenses.

Unbeknown-est to busily-reading Miss Mac was that Laars, sitting behind her, started to spit/blow bubbles and was fascinated at how they looked in the rays of sunshine coming thru the window!!

We fessed up later.  She had a good laugh.  All is well.

7 Things You (Probably) Don't Know About Me

1.  My feet went from about a size 8 to a 9-9.5 shoe due to pregnancies, and have not returned to their previous size.  I somehow did not read about this Hazard in the Pregnancy Literature.

2. I won the Elementary School Top Student Award in Grade 7 (Teachers Pet) and received an S badge and a coffee table book on Photography.

3. I begged my dad for a new 10-speed bike and received one over the summer, to have it stolen by October.  I swear I locked it up at the school bike rack!

4. I get faint at the thought of needles, and have been dragged across the gymnasium floor after getting a shot, and once I fainted at the medical clinic (after getting a few tubes of blood taken) when I needed to use their telephone to call home and get some pertinent information.  When I went down, so did the nurses stack of files and papers ;)  I can deliver a baby no problem, just don't prick me!

5. I no longer believe that hell is an eternal place.

6. I think that a woman's breasts are fascinating.

7. I still don't bake with raisins, but I am more likely to eat your baking with raisins in it than I used to.  I was so adamantly against raisins in any type of food that when Everette once snuck 1 lonely raisin into my morning oatmeal,  the moment my mouth identified the foreign object it was propelled across the table to my astonished husbands chest.

Shopping, for How Long???

Shopping is not my favorite pastime.  Sure, there have been times when its been fun, but its usually more of a chore to me than an exciting adventure, especially grocery shopping.  It's like an evil that must get done.

Ok, I've never gotten this angry, ever.  Not even close.

Well.......?

On my last shopping trip I was with Everette and the two little boys, Anders and Laars.  Everette likes pushing the buggy, following behind me (lets say, be-hind me!!!  especially since I've been losing all this weight!! giggle giggle)  Anyways, I whipped around a corner entering the baking aisle to find some poppy seeds, and I don't know why, but when I saw a 70-ish older couple there, my immediate thought was....
"I'm gonna have to be buying groceries every single week until I die!!"

Where did that thought come from???

I have no idea.  But, I guess I better get used to it.

And have a better attitude!!
