Doing Quebec

We started our journey this morning with the realization that this is the message on the trailer that we are pulling across this big nation for 2 weeks........

Heavy rains.  I was trying to read 'Conversations With God' to Everette, but at times the rain was so heavy it was hard to continue, and be heard.

When we got to Quebec City, we had a family discussion as to whether the weather would cooperate and allow us a nice afternoon in the city, or should we continue driving.  The vote was to find a hotel and see the city.  And so we did, and had a great day.

We stayed in Levis, across the St. Lawrence from Quebec, so we took the little ferry across to the city.

The view of the Chateau Frontenac from the ferry.  How majestic is that?!!!

Called the troops in, with no success....

Some surprises we saw.....
Beauty all around

Another ferry ride from whence we came......

The rains were coming and it was a good time to head out.  The Frontenac sitting on the hill is so majestic and photogenic.

We finished the day with a swim at the hotel, and dc off to bed early.  They were tired.

.......and all of us are HAPPY!!!

Boat Building (and planes and bridges)

This is a boat that Mitchell built last year and was floating late one night in the ocean (in our backyard). I just found this photo while Rauchelle was showing me some of her photo albums on Facebook.

I know its old, but I still think Mitchell did an awesome job. I love how the white sails look so stark against the black night.

Boat building is still one of his 'loves', but more recently he's gotten into building bridges with K'Nex. He's definitely into engineering of some sort. Oh, and all the paper planes around the house. I've never seen paper planes glide as nicely and as far as Mitchell's do. He has a great and glorious future!!

Question for You: What hobbies get built around your house?
