The family has used a boar bristle brush over the years, but never as the sole means really of our hair care. But we're trying it out now.

We've been doing it for a few weeks now, and I guess because we were using baking soda and vinegar rather than shampoos and conditioners, we haven't suffered the greasy look while changing over to just washing with water. It might not be such a pleasant change over if you were using store products because of 'the junk' that's built up on your hair from using the stuff.
I'm always interested in simplifying, and eliminating more and more chemicals out of our lives. I'm not fanatical at all, and should probably be more consistent. But if we can get our hair looking more and more shiny and healthy by using less and less 'stuff' on it, then Yahoo!! It's one or two less containers to worry about packing in our luggage and hoping they don't make a leaky mess!
Question for You: Have you ever tried using a boar bristle brush?
Haven't heard of this Karen! Will have to try it--I would consider myself more fanatical!! Although I still have shampoo, conditioner, hairspray and natural soap--that is all!!! And only eyeliner and mascara and lipstick. Only 'poison' under my sink is comet and dishwasher detergent and dishwasher soap. Still not 100%, but MUCH better than my grandma's cupboard!!--I think hers are all antiques though now...

ReplyDeleteI suppose I have about as many chemicals as you, minus the hair products and lipstick. Here at my sisters theres lots of chemicals, but I don't own nor use them.
Yeah, when I compare with my relatives, we've got nothin' under our cupboards!! Just space.
